The 2018 Annual Conference of the Asian Society of Ichthyologists will take place in Guangxi University, Nanning, China, following previous conferences in Penang in 2014, Guilin in 2015, Taipei in 2016, and Ho Chi Minh Cityin 2017. On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to welcome the members, other ichthyologists and anyone interested in Asian fishes to attend the 2018 Annual Conference, which is hosted by the Asian Society of Ichthyologists and the Chinese Ichthyological Society, and organized by Guangxi University, the No.4 Institute of State Oceanic Administration, Oceanic Administration of Beihai City, Guangxi, Beibuwan University and Guangxi Zoological Society.
2017 Annual Meeting of the Asian Society of Ichthyologists
The annual meeting of the Asian Society of Ichthyologists (ASI 2017) will be held in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam on 22-24 August 2017 at the University of Science–VNU HCM. The ASI started on Feb. 2014 in Penang-Malaysia at the Asian Fish Biodiversity Conference. The ASI objectives are to promote the development and advance on ichthyological research for Asian ichthyologists and others from around the World. After 3 annual meetings with great success (2014 Penang-Malaysia, 2015 Guilin-China, 2016 Taipei-Taiwan), ichthyologists from Asia and Pacific countries joined ASI and set up many collaborations.
2016 Annual Meeting of the Asian Society of Ichthyologists
A joint annual meeting of the Asian Society of Ichthyologists (ASI) and the Ichthyological society of Taiwan will be held in Taipei on 18-21 May 2016. The ASI was established in 2014 in Penang, Malaysia. Its objectives are promoting the development and advancement of ichthyological research for Asian ichthyologists and others from the World. The conference forthcoming will be the third annual meeting of the ASI since the society established. The two previous ones and its joint conference (Asian Fish Biodiversity Conference) have been held in Guilin, China and Penang, Malaysia, respectively with great success. In the next conference in Taipei, we will continue to provide a platform for the participants to present their latest findings, and exchange their scientific experiences with other researchers from different countries in the field of ichthyology of the region including taxonomy, phylogenetics, evolution, ecology, behavior, physiology, conservation, fisheries management, and others.
